MOOSEJAW, with their 15 barrel "copper-clad" brewhouse, serves 10 different styles of hand-crafted microbrews. They have the capacity to brew 500-1000 gallons of beer per day. Brewmaster Jamie Baertsch is feverishly working on seasonal flavors as well. These brews can be enjoyed at any of the three bars located within the brewpub.
December 30, 2011- Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co. releases the first bottled microbrew in the Dells! We have begun bottling our most popular ale, Rustic Red, in convenient 12 oz bottles. Until now, Rustic Red was only on tap at Moosejaw & our sister restaurant Buffalo Phil’s Pizza & Grille both located in Wisconsin Dells. Now you can pick up a six-pack on your way home from work.
Jamie Baertsch, who still holds the title as the “Only Female Brewmaster in Wisconsin”, has perfected the recipe for bottling. The Rustic Red is a medium-bodied, amber-colored ale. The caramel & aromatic Munich malts used in the Rustic Red give it a smooth drinkability & sweet, malty finish.
Rustic Red & Brewmaster Jamie Baertsch claimed a silver medal at the 2008 Great American Beer Festival, the largest national beer competition that recognizes the most outstanding beers being produced in the United States today. “To have our flagship beer win the silver medal when competing against the top 24 Scottish-Style Ales in the United States is a great accomplishment,” states Brewmaster Jamie Baertsch.
“We could not be more proud to bring our craft to bottles & let our customers share our tradition of brewing,” commented Mark Schmitz, boss. “It’s very exciting for us to share our craft with a larger community. The Wisconsin Dells area has really embraced Moosejaw Pizza & Dells Brewing Co. since it opened its doors in May 2002. Now our customers will be able to take a six-pack of beer back home with them or for their neighbor who was watching their dog while they were on vacation in the Dells!”
